I'm Holly, Head Extensionist at SDB.
I have been working in the hair industry for over 10 years with extensive knowledge and focus on Hair Extensions. My passion is to make everyone feel and look like the best version of themselves!
Since qualifying with Racoon in 2012, hair extensions have come so far. I have since learnt many new methods, for all different hair types and lifestyles. One size does not fit all, I want to be confident that I can provide a personalised service for anybody who would like to experience hair extensions.
I am have recently took on a new role as UK Eastern Region Educator for the biggest hair extension brand in the world, Bellami Hair. I will now also be focusing on educating stylists across the region in I-tips, K-tips, Beaded Wefts & Tapes, as well as social media planning, and how to create content!
RACOON LUXE BOND
The Racoon Hot Bond method is great for clients with finer hair, or those who want to fill out more prominent areas like the fringe. Unique to Racoon, their bonding is the kindest possible to hair but also formulated to be strong and durable yet easy to remove.
The hair is reusable but we recommend that new hair is added to replace the hair that has naturally shedding in-between maintenance appointments, you will also lose length when re-using this hair. We love this method because of how small we can cater the bonds, making it our most discreet method.
This method last for up to 6 months with regular maintenance appointments.
The Micro Ring method is very popular because it is reusable and very safe. No glue is used to fit the hair extensions and both the fitting and the removal process are straight-forward, comfortable and simple. Our hair extension experts fit strands of hair that are made here in the salon. Different sized microrings are used depending on you hair density, making it a custom service for you.
This method lasts for 3 months and you can re-use the hair again and again making it more sustainable and affordable.
Ideal for thick hair, this method is applied with cooper beads and sewn in. Volume wefts are a fast route for full coverage. No tape, glue or heat is needed for this volume-enhancing look.
You will need to come back for a 'move up' appointment every 6 weeks, and a 'all out, all in' service every 12 weeks.
This revolutionary 'Invisi-Tape' is our quickest in-salon service with maximum effect.
Fantastic for finer hair clients wanting to add volume. Lasting 4-6 weeks, this method is a great option for those who don't want to commit to a more permanent strand by strand method like the micro-rings and micro-bonds.
The hair can be re-used time and time again making it affordable and sustainable.
We want you to get the best out of your hair extensions so please follow our advise carefully
ALWAYS use a boar bristle brush when brushing your extensions
Gather your hair into a low ponytail and start brushing from the bottom up. When you get to the roots, place your hand and hold your bonds/rings/weft in place and continue to brush.
Of a night time gently tie your hair back with a scrunchy in a low ponytail or loose plate to help prevent tangles and knotting
ALWAYS brush your hair before washing following the steps above
You must use Racoon shampoo and conditioner if you are wearing our hot bonded method. A sulphate FREE shampoo and conditioner must be used with all other methods.
Gently massage your scalp working the shampoo in between your extensions
Throughly rinse your hair, making sure that all product has gone so to avoid scalp irritation.
Apply conditioner to your mid-lengths and ends avoiding your scalp and roots. Leave for a couple of minutes and then rinse throughly.
Washing your hair will take a little longer than usual but please never rush it, treat them with care.
Squeeze excess water from your hair, DO NOT rub your head with the towel, only pat dry if need be.
DO NOT brush your hair when wet, or use a small tooth comb
Hot Bonds must br dried 100% as soon as possible after washing to avoid the bonds getting moisture contamination.
Apply heat protecter to your hair
Start to air-dry your hair with a hair dryer on a medium heat. DO NOT tip your head up side down.
When the hair is 80% dry, using a tangle teezer or boar bristle brush, brush out your hair following the brushing guide above.
When your hair is completely dry and you wish to finish a hair straightener or tong, please set the temperature to 170 degrees or below and always re apply heat protector. GHDs are 185 degrees, so if you do have this brand, please keep your usage to a minimum to help your hair condition.
NEVER tie your hair back in a tight ponytail or wear on top on your head as this will put unnecessary tensions on your extensions.
Every new set of hair extensions comes with a complimentary 1st wash & blow-dry in salon so that we can talk about the aftercare process in more detail and answer any questions you might have.
